MasterCard Worldwide Launches 'Win 500 Flights Sweepstakes'; Consumer Promotion Will Award One Lucky Grand Prize Winner

PURCHASE, N.Y.--(AllPayNews)--July 6, 2006--MasterCard Worldwide today announced a new consumer promotion entitled the "MasterCard Win 500 Flights Sweepstakes," which offers MasterCard cardholders the opportunity to win a grand prize of 500 round-trip airline tickets to any destination in the world.*

Each time MasterCard cardholders use their MasterCard cards between July 1 and August 31, 2006 in the U.S., they are automatically entered for a chance to win the grand prize. Cardholders will be rewarded with double sweepstakes entries for each MasterCard purchase made with a participating airline co-brand MasterCard card. Double entries will also be rewarded for MasterCard purchases made at participating airlines -- either on-line, by phone, or at ticket counters/ticket offices. MasterCard is supporting the promotion with a fully-integrated media plan, including print, online, and a new Priceless(R) television execution entitled, "Best Coffee," currently in the brand's general rotation. Other components include over 30 million issuer-driven impressions delivered via cardholder statements inserts, in-branch signage, and ATM messaging.

To further engage consumers, MasterCard is creating "pop-up visitor centers" in five cities across the U.S., complete with a 52-foot-long "MasterCard Win 500 Flights Limo Plane" as the visitor center backdrop. The Limo Plane, which was constructed using the body of a 727 airplane, serves as a symbol of the sweepstakes, illustrating how a consumer could travel anywhere, for any reason, if they win the grand prize.

MasterCard "pop-up visitor centers" will be positioned near "priceless destinations" in each city and hosted by a celebrity who will provide consumers with the inside scoop on some of each city's best kept secrets. Each center will offer inside tips on finding "priceless destinations" such as: authentic family restaurants; hot celebrity hangouts; hidden ways to enjoy a view of the skyline; where to find the most unique foods; and chic shopping and spa experiences.

Consumers in select markets will also be invited to explore these distinctive locations by visiting www.priceless.com where they can print out an exclusive boarding pass to join the tour in person with a local celebrity. Additionally, a virtual tour of some of the "priceless destinations" from each market visited will be available on the website within 48 hours of the event.
